Watan Restaurant & Bakery is a fantastic spot for authentic Afghan cuisine and fresh baked goods! The Kabuli Pulao was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and their fresh naan was soft and delicious. The bakery selection is amazing, with everything from crispy cookies to savory pastries. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the ambiance felt warm and inviting. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something from the bakery, Watan delivers top-notch quality. Highly recommend!

They didn’t speak English.
The chicken was great, qubly is amazing. Make sure to get that.
Make sure to get bread to go, great bread. Seating was lifetime chairs. No one came to make sure our food was good or to offer anything. No pictures of what you’re ordering, have to guess. With them not speaking English and no pictures, you’re in for an adventure.

Don’t come here expecting great service but do come with the expectation of getting good food.

The menu was filled with a variety of traditional Afghani dishes, each one sounding more delicious than the last. I decided to try the uzbaki kabuli, and it did not disappoint. The lamb was tender and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the spiced rice and sweet raisins. And we ordered the combo kebab, and they were equally impressed with the rich flavors and meticulous preparation. The owner was such a great guy offer us green tea and freshly baked bread

We initially stopped by for some bread but noticed they offered food, so we had to try it. We ordered the shawarma and tikka kabab, and both were fantastic. The shawarma came with fries and garlic sauce, which paired nicely. Although I typically prefer lamb cooked rare or medium with juices running, the well-done lamb—traditional in Afghani/Uzbek cuisine—was excellent. My wife, who usually tolerates the way I grill lamb chops, absolutely loved it. This has quickly become our second favorite restaurant in Colorado.
I hope they continue to serve food.

Went to Sara's Market Bakery for the first time. The bread was warm and delicious right out of the oven. Super friendly folks too! I feel very lucky to have such good bread in my neighborhood.
